Kiyomizu-dera

Late March to Early April

Kiyomizu-dera is brightened by around 1,000 cherry trees in spring
One of the big attractions of Kiyomizu-dera is its beautiful scenery in all four seasons. In spring its 1,000 or so Yoshino and mountain cherry trees liven up the area with their blossoms, making this one of the most spectacular times of the year to visit. The cherry blossoms look fantastic against the blue sky during the day, and are also a must-see during the special night visits. The wondrous appearance of the cherry blossoms lit up at night is breathtakingly beautiful.
