Shiretoko Drift Ice Walk

From late January to early March, the Okhotsk Coast is awash with spotless white drift ice formed from frozen sea water. The Drift Ice Walk lets you walk over the frozen surface in a special dry suit, for an incredible experience unlike anything else anywhere in the world. The dry suit has great thermal insulation and also buoyancy, so the walk is suitable even for non-swimmers. As well as walking on the drift ice, you'll also have the chance to take a dip in the sea and float among the drift ice. You might glimpse Stellar's sea eagles flying overhead or cliones (sea angels) swimming in the sea below, giving you an unforgettable taste of nature.
